Dry Skin vs. Dehydrated Skin

What’s the difference? Aren’t they the same thing?
Nope!  They are as different as oil and water! This is a common misconception.  While sounding similar, they are, in fact, very different conditions. People with dry skin typically have smaller pores due to the follicles not producing enough sebum, which is natures natural emollient. Dehydrated skin, on the other hand, (or face!) is caused from a lack of water.  Lots of factors can play in to this, such as not drinking enough water, excessive perspiration, too much caffeine or lack of sleep.

Can a person have both?
Yes!  A person can have both dry AND dehydrated skin.
